A survey for a group of 300 college freshman is completed with the following results: Each student is either a business major or an education major, but not both.
45% of the group are females
80% of the males are business majors
Seventy-Eight (BY COUNT) of the females are education majors.
If one student is randomly selected from the group, find the following:
the probability that the student is a female or a business major:
the probability that the male student is a business major;
the probability that an education major is female

Since 45% are females
Total females = .45 x 300 = 135
Therefore Males = 300-135 = 165
78 females are Edn majors
which means 135-78 = 57 are Business
80% of males are Business Majors
.80 x 165 = 132 Business Majors
that gives us 165-132 = 33 Education Majors
