    Question Graphing modulus functions - struggling to know what to do

    Sketch these curves
    y=|x+3|+|x-2|

    I know you come up with the positive and negative expression for both eg
    For x >= -3 … |x+3| = x+3
    For x < -3 … |x+3| = -x-3
    For x >= 2 ... |x-2| = x-2
    For x < 2 ... |x+2| = -x+2

    So you end up with four different terms. One is the right line, one is the left, then you add two together to get the line that joins them. But I don't know which to use or what to do really.
