What are the basic maths that I'll need to know (or be better off knowing) before I start to learn algebra? Obviously Multiplication and Division, but what else? Thanks in advance guys.
The core of simple algebra is knowing the Order of Operations, BEDMAS (Brackets, Exponents, Division/Multiplication, Addition/Subtraction) when evaluating expressions and SAMDEB (the reverse order) to isolate the unknown variable on one side.
As what MacstersUndead said, algebra is more about manipulating equations and rearranging them so they're simplified. You'll most certainly will want a good grasp of BEDMAS, fractions, and your times tables.
Good luck!
