Probability in Algebra.
k is uniformly chosen from the interval (-5,5) . Let p be the probability that the quartic f(x)=kx^4+(k^2+1)x^2+k has 4 distinct real roots such that one of the roots is less than -4 and the other three are greater than -1. Find the value of 1000p.
I had posted this thread 3 days ago too nobody took the initiative to COMPLETELY solve it. I need help as i m no pro in probability.

So you are complaining that nobody did your homework for you? Perhaps you are at the wrong board! Have you solved that equation yet? That would be the obvious first step.

Yup, i have solved it, i have got the roots, so what???? I tried a little bit of wiggling but nothing worked out.
