Alicesayde

Factorize the denominator x^2-1 to becom (x-1)(x+1) and multiply the second fraction by (x+1) (NUm +denom.)

then you have two fractions with the same donominator and you can add them together....do it is easy. - Mar 6th 2013, 10:34 PMalicesaydeRe: Algebra and Equations
So would the answer be 5-x/ (x+1)(x-1)?

No.......it will be (3-x)/(x-1)(x+1) check the signs you have -(x+1) which will become -x-1......be carefulll
