    Modelling and problem solving

    The correct conversion formula for degrees C to degrees F is F = 9/5C + 32. An approx formula is F = 2C + 30. At what temperature do both the C and F scales give the same value?

    Hi elmidge!

    Suppose the C and F scales both give the same unknown value x.
    Then x = 9/5x + 32.
    Can you solve that?
