    Lightbulb Finding Ratio

    Q) If 5x=4y then find x : y

    how can this be solved to get the answer ?

    You understand, do you not, that the notation "x:y:: a: b" means simply " \frac{x}{y}= \frac{a}{b}"?

    Divide both sides of the given equation by 5y.
