quadratic simplification of answers
-3x2-10x+12=0

Here is what I'm shown as the solution:

What I don't understand is how the last two steps happen. I understand that 10/-6 reduces to -5/3, but not how sqrt(244) is 61? It it that sqrt(244) is sqrt(4*61)?

Why are you not using the equivalent form?
$3x^2+10x-12=0$

Alright, even if I do I still arrive at the same issue. The issue I run into is that I don't understand what is happening between here:

hi there! all what is happening is that root 244 can be simplified to root4 * root61 which is the same as 2*root61 and then the 2 would divide out with 6, just like the 10 and 6 thus resulting Attachment 26964
