where did Y go?

for the above manipulation I assume that the second line should be c1T+b1Y at the end.

My question is where did Y go? we factored a negative Y out of (Yb1+Yc1-Y) to get -Y(1-c1-b1) but in the above set of equations it just has -(1-c1-b1)

did we assume Y=1 at some point perhaps?

I'm afraid your equations are just full of typos and mistakes.
You already noted the missing c1T in the second equation and also the missing plus in front of b1Y.
That same second equation also has a T too many.

All in all, your Y didn't go anywhere special, it was just dropped by mistake.
And there is yet another mistake in the 3rd equation
