Thread: Algebra two quadratic simplification?

In my algebra 2 class were doing the quadratic formula. But we have to keep the answer in simple radical form. But the program on my calculator puts it in decimal form. Can I convert this? Or do I just have to solve it by hand? I have a regular ti 83

Don't use your calculator, but rather solve by hand.

there should be a "change" button on your calculator, because mine is a "cheap" scientific calculator and it has it.

Change what? There's a mode button which has all kinds of settings in it. I can change the floats or degrees to radians or standard notation to scientific etc. and there's a button that changes decimals to fractions. But when I try that it just reprints the decimal.

Put the calculator in a drawer.

Do these by hand.
