Hey xdamagedxkissesx.

Just expand out both sides and try and solve for y: there is nothing mysterious about the question. - Jan 29th 2013, 10:27 PMpspssRe: Drawing Linear Equation
3/4(y – 1/5) = 1/8(y + 2/5)

3/4[(5y – 1)/5] = 1/8[(5y + 2)/5]

3/20[(5y – 1)] = 1/40[(5y + 2)]

3(5y – 1)/20 = 1(5y + 2)/40 --------- LCM 40

[6(5y – 1) = 1(5y + 2)]/40

30y – 6 = 5y + 2

25y = 8

y = 8/25 ----- 1 value - Jan 31st 2013, 02:38 PMnycmathRe: Drawing Linear Equation
The correct answer is 4/35.

- Jan 31st 2013, 06:39 PMbjhopperRe: Drawing Linear Equation
simplify

3/4y-3/20= -1/8y-2/40

30y-6=-5y-2

35y=4 y=4/35 - Jul 10th 2013, 09:12 AMnycmathRe: Drawing Linear Equation
Thank you very much.
