I am wondering if it's possible to do a quadratic equation on a scientific calculator and if it is how would I go about doing it? I am completely baffled by scientific calculators.

What do you mean by DO a quadratic equation? If you mean to SOLVE a quadratic equation, no it's not possible with a scientific calculator. You would need a Computer Algebra System (CAS) calculator.

Hi Ailish,

If you go to youtube.com and enter this into the search box: "solve quadratic equations with sharp calculator" (no qutoes) you can view a video of the steps involved to solve a quadratic. They use a Sharp el-516, but I think the steps will probably be similar or the same. I have the el-535, but have not tried this yet. Hope this helps.
