Percent word problem
Could someone please explain how to solve the following word problem?

What number is 270 percent of 250?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

"What number" means x.

"is" means equal.

"270 percent" means 2.7

"of" means times.

And "250" stays as 250.

This means,
$x = 2.7 \times 250$

Just to point out to if you don't have a calculator it may be easier to approach the problem like this

270% $= \frac{270}{100}$

Then just do

$x = \frac{270}{100} \cdot 250$

(Its helpful to think of percentages as "out of 100")

well its simple all u need to 250 times'd by 270% on your calculator and the answer will be staring in ur face
