Here is the question:

3/x ÷ 4/5

The problem I am having is I cannot solve for x.

The answer to 3/x is 3/4.

Help would be appreciated.

when dividing by a fractionyou multiply by its reciprocal

3/x*5/4 =3/4

cross multiply 60=12x x=5

Re: Easy Algebra Question

ANS:- 3/x ÷ 4/5 = 3/4 -> 3/x * 5/4 = 3/4

15*4/ 4*3 = 15/4 = 3x/4

15/4x = 3/4x

60/12 = 5x

Re: Easy Algebra Question

OP shows an algebraic expression equal to nothing, X cannot be determined without an equality.I show an example where this expression equals 3/4.

(3/X) *(5/4) =3/4

X=5
