    Solving the Discriminant without "B" in the problem

    I understand how to solve for the discriminant, however I do not understand when there is no "B" in the problem.

    For example, 5x^2 - 7 = 0

    5 = A
    - 7 = C

    How would I figure out what B is?

    Thank you!
