how do you manipulate the algebra ?

Try multiplying both sides by (A + 500) then expand out all the A's and simplify.

up to this point is it correct?
but how do i continue.

Subtract 0.52A from both sides (it will cancel out) and use the distributive law that ab + ac = a(b+c).
