    Fractions and Equations

    Ok, I have 8=\frac{16}{X}. I know what the answer is, but I want to know what operation to perform in order to make the equation \frac{16}{8}=X

    Start by multiplying both sides by X.

    This leaves 8X = 16.

    Then divide both sides by 8.

    This gives the result you seek, \frac{16}{8}=X, after you swap the order of the equality.
