What (least) common denominator would you use if you were tasked with simplifying the sum of the two expression?

That is, how would you simplify $\displaystyle \frac{4}{x-2}+\frac{6}{x+2} $ so that there is just one fractional term, i.e., $\displaystyle \frac{top}{\color{blue}bottom}$ ?

The $\displaystyle \color{blue}bottom$ in your final simplification is the least common denominator.

The answer is $\displaystyle (x-2)(x+2) $, but do you understand this?
