1. ## Exponential Assignment

Hey,

How is it going guys! I have this exponential problem that I am stuck on. I haven't done exponential equations for a long time. To start out this is what the problem looks like:

"The function P(t) = PoE^kt K > 0 is a model of many kinds of population growth. Po is the population at time 0, P is the population after time t and k is called the exponential growth rate. In 1998, the population of India was about 984 million and the exponential growth rate was 1.8% per year.

(a) Write a function, in correct form, for this exponential growth.

(b) Graph the exponential growth. use appropriate scale on the x- and y-axis.

(c) Applying the function, what will be the population in 2005?"

I can do the last two just fine if I can remember how to reach the equation. I know it explains, but as in usual math, the explanation sucks. I don't really know where to begin...

t = 0 is 1998

P0 = 984 million, so P will be in millions also.

k = 0.018
...

Sorry instead of "..." you might have to explain that to me a little more. Unless of course you feel your intellect is to high for someone as weak minded as myself. That's my interpretation of your "..." anyways.

Look ... you were given a formula with an explanation of the terms in said formula and could not interpret it. I tried to provide you with an interpretation two ways, in color and in bold type, hoping that it would help you interpret the problem statement yourself. Instead of gratitude, you took offense.

I recommend you wait until someone else explains it to your exacting specifications or seek assistance elsewhere.
