Percent to fraction

So the problem is

$166$ $\frac{2}{3}$ $\%$

I figured I would divide the $\frac{2}{3}$ and figure out what the 166.(insert number here) was but I just end up with a .6 and infinite. So I'm confused how to get a simple fraction or mixed number out of this. I don't want anyone to do the problem for me, I just hope someone can point me to the proper direction? Thanks.

Wait a second so I decided to 166 2/3 over 100 which would give me 500/3 divided by 100/1 so I multiply meaning 500/3 X 1/100....in the end I have 1 2/3.....

Yes, you are right:

$166\frac{2}{3}\%=\frac{500}{3}\%=\frac{500}{3} \cdot\frac{1}{100}=\frac{5}{3}=1\frac{2}{3}$
