$\displaystyle 6-1\cdot0+\frac{2}{2}=6-0+1=7$

Hello, cheliciouspie!

Quote:

$\displaystyle \text{Evaluate: }\:6-1\cdot0+2 \div 2$

Don't you know the "Order of Operations"?

Do all the multiplication and divisionany addition and subtraction.*before*

So we have: .$\displaystyle 6 - (1\cdot0) + (2\div 2)$

. . . . . . . . $\displaystyle =\;6 - 0 + 1$

. . . . . . . . $\displaystyle =\;7$

@markfl2 and @Soroban

Thanks for your replies...

i know the order of operation... (MDAS).. My answer as well is 7... but i'm just confuse cause my friends told me that it's 5.

they say 6-0+1 = 5....that is 6-(0+1)=6-1=5...

They told me that addition first before subtraction... - Oct 25th 2012, 07:46 PMMarkFLRe: 6-1*0+2/2 please answer this maths question?
Addition and subtraction are done at the same level from left to right. You are right and your friends are not.
