Thread: Help me find the solution to this problem

hi this is kind of a sum which I created (it's do do with finding frequency components for counters) i have to make a 50Mhz (50,000,000hz) to 1Hz Frequency Divider for an assignment in college. The input source is 50mhz and i'm required to generate 4 other clock rates which should be incrementing multiples of 2 of the source.

so here is my question:

A/2 + B/4 + C/8 + D/16 = 50,000,000

Find values for A, B, C and D.

I could be overthinking it but i'm just unsure how to get these values, please help, thanks

so.. i kind of figured it out (i think)

ultimately i'm trying to generate 4 numbers which are multiples of 2 of the source

(2+4+8+16 = 30)

A = (50,000,000/30) x 2
B = (50,000,000/30) x 4
C = (50,000,000/30) x 8
D = (50,000,000/30) x 16

A+B+C+D = 50,000,000
