# Thread: Help please.

1. ## Help please.

A stack of thirty cards is placed next to a ruler, and the height of stack is measured to be $\frac{{3}}{{4}}$ inches.

How thick is one card?

_________ inches

2. ## Re: Help please.

All you would do is divide 3/4 inches by 30 which gives you 0.635 mm. And in inches 1 card would be : 0.025000000000027 inches

As a fraction.

4. ## Re: Help please.

okay so 0.025 over 1 , times both by 100, 2.5 over 100. I guess simplify it to the amount you want. if you want a whole number then 5 over 200. I would think the answer would be : 1 over 20

5. ## Re: Help please.

You need to divide 3/4 inches by 30 cards.

Using the reciprocal rule,

(3/4)/30 = (3/4)*(1/30)

Multiplying fractions,
(3/4)*(1/30) = 3/120 = 1/40 inches.
