Simultaneous equation help
Can anyone solve this simultaneous equation

X + Y = 300
4X + 6Y = 1380

Hint: multiply the first equation by -4, then add the two equations, to eliminate X, and then solve for Y. Then use the original first equation to find X.

I done this but I am not getting the same answer that is in the answer booklet, what answer did you get.?? Thanks fir getting back to me

Show what you did, then we can find where the mistake is (perhaps even with the answer booklet). Identifying where your mistake may be will be more helpful to you than supplying the solution, as then you may avoid similar errors in the future.
