    Changing the subject of the formulae 2

    Please may someone show me the steps to change the subject of the formulae, the subject needs to be y.

    1) √2y+a = m
    y

    2) √3y
    m-y = 2w

    Use parentheses! I think the first one is (√2 y+ a)/y= m but it might be (√(2y)+ a)/y= m or √(2y+ a)/y= m. But then you say "change the subject of the formula". To what? y or a?
