" / " is really for division
" * " is for multiplication

.03{3.8x50.2-[(7.5-8)/.05]}

= 0.03{3.8*50.2 -[(7.5 -8)/0.05]}

Multiply the 3.8 * 50.2, and get the difference of (7.5 -8)

= 0.03{190.76 -[(-0.5) /0.05]}

= 0.03{190.76 -[-10]

= 0.03{190.76 +10}

= 0.03 {200.76}

= 6.0228 -----------------------answer.

For some reason, I find it difficult to explain my solution. Your book, or your teacher, should tell you how to do it. Which operation to do first. I think live explanation is better, where you can ask while I explain, in person. Because, me sitting here, does not know what you don't know.
