    Transforming a Function

Hi i have a problem with the following questions

1-The graph of f(x)=√(x) is compressed horizontally by the factor 1/2, reflected in the y axis, and translated 3 units right and 2 units down. Also sketch a graph.

My answer was F(x)= √(-2x+6)-2 however the answer from the book is F(x)= -√(2x-6)-2

2-The graph of y=1/x is stretched vertically by the factor 3 , reflected in the x-axis and translated 4units left and 1 unit up.

My answer was -3y=(1/x+4)+1 however the answer from the book is y=(-3/x+4)+1

    which one is right?

    Thank you in advance

reflection over the y-axis ... your function transformation is correct

reflection over the x-axis ... the book's function transformation is correct
