So Im doing math homework and i come across this:
2(8-3q)=-6q+16
I tried to solve it, but it ended up just all equaling zero. Can someone tell me how to solve it?
What you have is called an identity, which is true for all values of q.
If an equation can be ultimately simplified to 0 = 0, then it is an identity.
If the equation ultimately simplifies to 0 = 1, then it is inconsistent, i.e., it has no solution.
