    Solving for beta?

    Hello,

    Boy... its been a long time since I have done this stuff....

    In any case, I am trying to solve for B in the following equation:

    a = B/B+1

    Therefore:

    (B+1) a = B/B+1 (B+1)

    (B+1) a = B

    and now I am stuck!!!1

    Any help is appreciated!

    How about 1/a=(B+1)/B=1+1/B

    From where you ended up:

    \displaystyle \begin{align*} (B + 1)a &= B \\ aB + a &= B \\ a &= B - aB \\ a &= B(1 - a) \\ \frac{a}{1 - a} &= B \end{align*}
