Re: help with this word problem. algebra wordproblem

$\displaystyle \text{Daily cost} = 19.95+ 0.2x$ where x = the number of miles the car has driven

You know the car has been driven 50 miles, and so replace x with 50 to get...

$\displaystyle \text{Daily cost} = 19.95+ 0.2 \cdot (50)$

$\displaystyle \text{Daily cost} = ...$
