Finding Value of Functions
Using the following table:
Attachment 24405
For each of the following functions, if they are defined at the given point, find their value.
Otherwise explain why they are undefined.
1. 2f(x) + g(x) when x=3
if i substitute the x then itll be 2f(3)+g(3)=2f(30)+g(40)..what is the next step?
2. 3f(2)-2g(0)
sub again 3f(10)-2g(-20)
3. (1/2)f(g(5))
=(1/2)f(g(5)) how do i proceed from this step? could this possibly be undefined?
4. g(x-3)/f(x+6) when x=3
=g(3-3)/f(3+6) = if i cancel the 3 then if im corrent it would be -3/6?
Re: Finding Value of Functions
So read off your table the values of f and g at those values of x...

so for the 1st one f(x) = 30 and g(x)=40
what is the '2' representing? 2xf? so 2(f(x))=60?
