dividing polynomials
Hi;
5x^2 -2x +1 / x+4.

I thought the answer was 5x-22+ 89/x+4 Am I correct.

Thanks.

Re: dividing polynomials
I assume the last term in the numerator is +1

$\frac{5x^2 - 2x + 1}{x+4} = 5x-22 + \frac{89}{x+4}$

next time use parenthesis to make your numerator and denominator terms clear ... also, proofread your post using the "go advanced" button, then you can use the "preview" button if you need to make additional corrections. thanks.
