I want to simplify:

(3x^2 +2) (x^2 +3) - (x^3 +2x+1)2x

According to my textbook, I should be arriving at:

x^4 + 7x^2 - 2x + 6

I'm getting a little stuck here! help would be kindly appreciated. :)

Expand everything:

$\displaystyle (3x^4 + 9x^2 + 2x^2 + 6) - (2x^4 + 4x^2 + 2x)$

$\displaystyle = (3x^4 + 11x^2 + 6) - (2x^4 + 4x^2 + 2x)$

$\displaystyle = x^4 + 7x^2 - 2x + 6$ - Jun 21st 2012, 12:13 AMeuphmorningRe: Some simplification help please
I just needed it broken down as you kindly did - very straightforward now.

Thankyou !
