    Parent needs help simpifying expressions

    I am trying to help my son with his homework. 25 years after my last algebra class and I am lost.

    I need to simplify this expression

    42y / 1/7

    Simplifying Expression

    To solve

    42Y/1/7 = 42y * 7/1 = 154y

    if denominator is in fraction, you change "divide" to "times" and take upside down of the denominator i.e 1/7 changes to 7/1 and times with the numerator

    Your theory is correct but your multiplication is off. 42 x 7 =294
