ans: [(2(a + b) + 1)][(a + b) + 3] . . . . This is wrong.

$\big[2(a+b) + 1\big]\big[(a+b)+3)\big] \;=\;(a+b)^2 + {\color{red}7}(a+b)\,{\color{red}+}\,3$

The correct factoring is: . $\big[2(a+b) - 1\big]\big[(a+b) + 3\big]$
