Generally $\displaystyle \sqrt[n]{a}=a^{\frac{1}{n}}$. So $\displaystyle \sqrt{2}=\sqrt[2]{2}=2^{\frac{1}{2}}=2^{0.5}.$
thanks, I forgot indice laws
Grammatical point- there is no such word as "indice". "Indices" is the plural of "index".
