# Math Help - Radical equation solve

The question is this and i get the answer x = 125 which when i plug it back in I think it works.

1+ root 5 radical x = 9 -7 root 5 radical x

the book says the answer is 125/4 i dont agree can anyone confirm

2. ## Re: Radical equation solve

actually wrong problem
real problem

3 root 3 radical x = 5 +2 root 3 radical x

Is this the question: $1+\sqrt{5}\sqrt{x}=9-7\sqrt{5}\sqrt{x}~?$
If not, try to make it clearer.

4. ## Re: Radical equation solve

Sure my apology

its the 3 the cube of x = 5 + 2 the cube of x
Like the 3 is beside the radical with a little 3 outside of the radical and x is inside the radical
and the 2 is beside the radical with a ilttle 3 outside of the radical and x is inside the radical

\begin{align*}\sqrt[3]{x}&=5+2\sqrt[3]{x}\\\sqrt[3]{x}&=-5\\x&=-125\end{align*}

6. ## Re: Radical equation solve

Thats the equation but there is a 3 beside the first radical so 3 little 3 radical x
I got the answer 125. Am i right?

Yes in that case you are correct.

But you ought to learn LaTeX posting.
