$\frac{16x^5}{4x} + \frac{2x^4}{4x} + \frac{x^3}{4x}$

finish by dividing each term ...

Re: Dividing polynomails help
I get it now sorry for being stupid.
Another question please with this one.

4x^3(2x^4+8x^3+12x^3)

I get x/2+2+3/x but my book says the answer is x/2+2(3/x) is it the same thing or?

Re: Dividing polynomails help
no that was a division problem.. this (2x^4+8x^3+12x^3)

divided by 4x^3.

note that $2x^4+8x^3+12x^3 = 2x^4 + 20x^3$

$\frac{2x^4 + 20x^3}{4x^3} = \frac{x}{2} + 5$

sure you copied it correctly?
