I am stuck on this Math Word Problem
Hey guys, I decided to start learning math from the beginning and I have been trying to understand this math word problem for two days now. I found the answer in the back of the book but I wanted to know exactly an in depth explanation and the answer you came up with. I will post the answer that is listed in the back of the book later on.

Re: I am stuck on this Math Word Problem
Okay, so we know that area is measured in square units, right? And that when the distance is one unit, it's 1 unit squared.
So we move out to 2 yards. 2^2 = 4 sq. units.
3 yards means 3^2 = 9 square units
4 yards means 4^2 = 16 square units.
Does this make sense?
Re: I am stuck on this Math Word Problem
OMG Thank you for explaining that I really appreciate it. It makes total sense. You have the same answer from the back of my math book (2^2, 3^2, and 4^2)
This question has been bothering me but I can finally have a good night's rest, lol. Thanks Again. I think I am in love with this forum. Hopefully I can get really good in math and provide explanations too!!!
