# Thread: Algebra 2 10 questions (logarithms,Natural log, Exponential decay/Increase.)

1. ## Algebra 2 10 questions (logarithms,Natural log, Exponential decay/Increase.)

Well Algebra 2 just isnt coming to me easily at all so i am asking if some one would be able to walk my through some questions i guess it is actually quite a lot of questions i have a small understanding for them but it dosen't make much sense to me. I need to know it for a test that is coming up and my notes don't really help.
It would be good if some one could walk me through it. I know people usually use calculators but are teacher wants us to show the actual work that you do before putting it into a calc.

I for one resent having to link to posted questions.
I think if you really want help you should at least be willing to learn basic LaTeX.
You can type out the question so we have it before us.
No one is paid to answer your questions. So the least you can is to make the readable.

6. Use $\log_4(3)\approx 0.7925$ and $\log_4(4)=1$ to approximate the value of the expression $\log_4(1,536)$

Solve the Given equation if necessary, round to four decimal places.
7. $\log_2(8)$ + $\log_2$ a= $\log_2(12)$

8. $\log_5(x+2)-log_5(7)=log_5(49)$

Solve the Given Inequality if Necessary, round to four decimal places.
10. $5^y\geq 17$

11. $5^3^a<26$

Express the given Logarithm in terms of common Logarithms. Then approximate its value to four decimal places
13. $\log_9(11)$

Solve the Given equation round to the nearest ten-thousandth if neccessary.
16. $9e^x-12=9$

Solve the given Inequality round to nearest ten-thousandth if necessary.
17. $e^x>15$

20. An anthropologist finds that a prehistoric bone contains less than 8.1% of the amount of Carbon-14 the bones would have contained when the person was alive. How long ago did this person die? (The constant for Carbon-14 is 0.00012) decay Formula $y=ae^-^k^t$

Growth: $y=ae^k^t$

23. Find the constant k for this type of bacteria under ideal conditions.

24. Write the Equations for modeling the exponential growth of this bacteria.

I think the answer to 4 will be a negative number?
I do know for number 6 the first step is to factor 1,536 to get more favorable numbers for the log, 7. I think a formula the Logarithm equality something like that is used in the problem.

Have you looked into LaTeX?
Solve log8 of n=2/3,
[TEX]\log_8(n)=\frac{2}{3}[/TEX] gives $\log_8(n)=\frac{2}{3}$.
You can learn to do that.

You didn't know that if a^p = b, then p = LOG(b) / LOG(a) ?

Wait im not sure on what your saying? so p im guessing is 3a from what u said then 3a = the log of b and log of a?

I was giving you an example or rule.
Here's another example:
3^(2x) = 81
2x = LOG(81) / LOG(3)
2x = 4
x = 2

Apply that to some of your problems...
