Thread: Solution needed to equation - think it is termed a linear equation???

Excuses first, it is over 20 years since school and I have had no cause to do equations since. I realise this may be rudimentary, no less what is the solution please to:

4000=(80 * Y) + (160 * x)

An explanation would ne nice too.

There is really no single solution in the sense that I think you mean solution.
There is a set of solutions, a set of ordered pairs: .
