Okay, I'm not sure where I should be posting this, so I'm really sorry if I got it wrong! :/

Describe the transformations required to change y = x² into y = 7 + 4(3x-2)^2.So, would that be;

Horizontal translation by -2
Vertical translation by 7
Vertical dilation by 4?

But then what about the 3x?

Argh! It's frustrating me. >_<

Consider

$y = 7+4(3x+2)^2$

$y = 7+4\left(3\left(x+\frac{2}{3}\right)\right)^2$

$y = 7+4\left(3^2\left(x+\frac{2}{3}\right)^2\right)$

$y = 7+4\times 3^2\left(x+\frac{2}{3}\right)^2$
