Finding same unknown in 2 equations
Hi everyone,

I am a little stumped as how I find 'B' in the equation below, in the text of the answers we are given 'B = 227.442' and if you enter that into the formula it comes out as the correct answer but how do I go about extracting it?

The formula is

(8 x 33405) + (9 x 25978) + (0.79B x 21460) + ((0.21B - 12.5) x 22707 = 5177297

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Simplify by expanding brackets

$267240 + 233802 + 16953.4B + 4768.47B - 283837.5 = 5177297$

Combine like terms and solve for B

typo: that should be

$267240 + 233802 + 16953.4B + 4768.47B - 283837.5 = 5177297$
