hi,

i need help expressing this:

($\displaystyle 1-\sqrt{3}$) + ($\displaystyle 4-2\sqrt{3}$) in form of $\displaystyle a+b\sqrt{3}$

i would like to have some help on how to answer this and have it expalinedclearly so i understand.

Can you combine $\displaystyle (1-x)+(4-2x)~?$

that would be 2x^2-6x+4
