Thread: Finding two digit number

Five two-digit numbers are multiples of the products of their digits. Four of these numbers are 11, 12, 24, and 36. Find the fifth number.

I was looking at this and confuse about this question.

Ok, we have

11: 1x1=1, 11 is a multiple of 1
12: 1x2=2, 12 is a multiple of 2
24: 2x4=8, 24 is a multiple of 8
36: 3x6=18, 36 is a multiple of 18

Does this make sense?

If so you can now find your 5th number, there's not that many to choose from i.e. between 10 & 99

So this being said 64 can also be the answer?

What have you tried? You know what a multiple is yeh?

Start at 10, does that work?

Skip 11 and 12, we know the result there, then keep going, 13, 14, ....

Won't take you long, you should find it before you get to 20.
