$\displaystyle ex - fx = g + hx - k$

$\displaystyle ex - fx - hx = g - k$

$\displaystyle x(\cdots)=g-k$

Have a go from here - finish the factoring in line #3 and see if you can finish. - Dec 13th 2011, 09:10 AMpolskonRe: Solve for X
**x ( e - f - h ) = g - k**

divide both sides by**( e - f - h )**

**x = ( g - k ) / ( e - f - h )**

Thanks, I think I understand now.
