Hi , help with the following ....the patient is prescribed a drug to be administered
at a rate of 4mcg per minute . The drug is available in a concentration of
2mg in 50mls drawn up in a 50ml syringe .
How many mls per hour would you set the syring driver pump at ?

1 000 mcg =1 mg
rate desired per hr = 4 * 60 =240 mcg per hr = .24 mg per hr
Conc of drug =2/50 = .04 mg per cc
0.04 * cc /hr = 0.24 mg/hr
cc/hr =6
