1. ## Help on algebra word problem.

Daddy chocolate bear is 60 kg heavier than mummy chocolate bear and baby chocolate bear is 20 kg heavier than chocolate Goldilocks. Given that the lightest and heaviest weight is 20 kg more than the combined weight of the other two, and the combined weight of all four is 300 kg, how heavy was chocolate Goldilocks?

I need major help! Thank you so much!

2. ## Re: Help on algebraic problem?!?

Let D be daddy, M be Mummy, B be baby and G be Goldilocks

You have M+60=D and G+20=B

M+B+20 = D+G

M+G+D+B = 300

Now you have 4 equations and 4 unknowns, can you finish it off?

3. ## Re: Help on algebraic problem?!?

Thank you so much!

4. ## Re: Help on algebraic problem?!?

Pickslides assumes D is heaviest and G the lightest of the bears. Here are two answers where this is untrue

D 110
M 50
B 80
G 60

D 100
M 40
B 90
G70

Since these both meet the givens I don't think you can solve the problem unless addidional info is given
