find the smaller of the two integers..

ok i thought this would be straight forward but it seems as though i am not getting the right answer...

so here is the problem...

the product of two consecutive integers is 15 more than the larger of the two integers. find the smaller of the two consecutive integers.

so i set up the problem as follows...

(n+1)(n+2)=(n+2)+15

skipping over the algebra i got the answers n=3,-5

but my book says im wrong? where did i mess up?

Re: find the smaller of the two integers..

If n=3, then smallest integer = 4 : n+1 ; so you're correct!

Try again: use n(n + 1) = (n + 1) + 15
