Working out how much pay per hour
Hello,

Please someone help me with this problem.

If a job pays £17,939 annually, work out how much the person earns per hour?

17939/12 = 1494.92 ( dividing by 12, to get the amount per month)

than divide by 4, to get the amount per week?

1494.92 / 4 = 372.73

now divide by 5, because this is the number of days, you would work in a week, or is it 7?

so far is this correct?

Thank you

Sorry forgot to add, that the number of hours worked per week is 20.

The question is not clear.
1)We do not know how many hours does he work in 1 day.
2)We do not know if he works on weekends or not.

Assuming that he works 24 hours a day and works on all days in a year:

$\text{No. of hours he worked}=\text{No.of days in a year}\times 24=365\times 24=8760$

$\text{Money earned in 1 hour}=\frac{17939}{8760}=2.04$

Oh sorry, I forgot to add, number or hours worked per week is 20, and Monday-Friday, so 5 days a week.

In that case, no. of working hours= $[365-(4)(12)(2)]20=20(365-96)=20(269)$

Money earned in 1 hour = $\frac{17939}{20(269)}$

Simplify and finish it.
